WUW(Wind und Wand)
WUW - WIND AND WALL describes a 40-minute dance performance for young audiences aged 10 and over.
The play between the elements of wind and wall stands for the ambivalent relationship between
children and their parents in a time of transition,
for a complex emotional world and for the gap that can arise between one's own ideas and reality.
No longer a child and not yet an adolescent - the time before puberty is both a formative and challenging phase.
But it is also a playful journey with many surprises, adventures, celebrations and unexpected changes.
During the rehearsal and development phase of the piece, the artists conducted interviews
with the target group and held workshops on topics that concern children of this age group.
The work with the target group was not just inspiring but also integral to the development of the movement material.
The Performance was created as part of Explore Dance season 24

“(…)Often, small gestures or a grimace are enough to capture the audience's attention. She effortlessly plays with gravity, turns up side down or, after a long pause or slow-motion introspection, accelerates her movements back to 100% speed and transforms them into pure energy.
Jin Lee has the entire gamut of emotional transitions down pat. And just as in real life, there is sometimes only the blink of an eye between a sky-high jubilance and a moment of melancholy. This goes down well with the audience -whether children or adults are watching.(…)
